The Lenten Season 2021
Lent
is the period of 40 days that comes before Easter in the Christian calendar.
Beginning on Ash Wednesday, Lent is a season of reflection and preparation
before the celebrations of Easter. By observing the 40 days of Lent, Christians
replicate Jesus Christ's sacrifice and withdrawal into the desert for 40 days.
Lent is marked by fasting, both from food and festivities.
We
couldn't go out and do our religious traditions during this Lenten Season,
which was a bit upsetting. We were unable to participate in traditional
activities such as waving the palaspas, Visita Iglesia, and so on, but we were
able to attend an online mass and pray the Holy Rosary kudos to technology.
During this pandemic, we should be even more grateful to our Almighty for
protecting us and our families from any threat.
The
Lenten Season is a time of renewal and reflection on our relationship with God,
as well as a time to remember God's sufferings, such as being nailed to the
Cross. It allows us to monitor changes in our Catholic lives. Whatever examples
are given to provide a concrete understanding of Lent, it always revolves
around our Lord and all of the sacrifices He has made to save us. Let us
reflect on our Lord's great act of salvation, which He accomplished by His life
and sacrifice.
