Humans Play a Huge Role in Environmental Issues

    

         Today, global warming and climate change are two of the world's most pressing environmental issues. Global warming refers to the increase in global temperatures primarily due to rising atmospheric greenhouse gas concentrations. Climate change refers to the rising changes, including precipitation, temperature, and wind patterns, in climate measures over a long period of time. It is a problem that world leaders need to work on more seriously by engaging more individuals to take action in helping improve the environment.

        Generally, people are ignorant about climate change and global warming. The government has put effort into activities such as "Earth Day" that could help raise awareness for this. Hopefully, citizens in both rural and urban areas can work together with the government in combating such environmental crisis.

        The Department of Environment and Natural Resources-Climate Change Service is pushing through its full-loaded activities in celebration of the upcoming National Climate Change Consciousness Week, which are mostly virtually held while the COVID-19 is still present in the country. The annual week-long event, with the theme 'Adapting for a Sustainable Future' this year, aims to raise awareness of global warming and climate change by undertaking large and intense public information and education campaigns to ensure the private and public sector's cooperation.

        Being conscious and aware of what's happening around us is a very important matter. At the very least, we need to be able to understand that climate change is taking place in our world which is why education is a vital factor in our response to environmental issues. Education helps us consider the effects of global warming and improve young people's "climate literacy". It encourages informed decision-making. Promoting such is a simple way to become an environmental steward and to involve people in developing a brighter future. 

        To combat both global warming and climate change, we all need to work together. It is a global issue to save the planet and it should be addressed as such. Hopefully, humanity can recognize the importance of our environment and find a way to make it a better place, not just in the future, but in the present time.
